The purpose of studying the discipline is to familiarize students with the basic spiritual, ideological, mental, historical and other form-building principles of the identity of the peoples of the EU and Ukraine.

• basic concepts and theoretical and methodological approaches to the explanation of integration processes in Europe and Ukraine;
• historical and conceptual foundations of European integration and the prerequisites for Ukraine’s entry into the European community;
• political and socio-economic factors of the formation of a common European space and the ways of entry for Ukrainian society there;
• features of the institutional transformation of the European Union;
be able to:
• analyze the processes of formation and implementation of the internal policy of the European Union;
• be aware of the specifics of the formation and implementation of the European Union’s foreign policy;
• distinguish between civil and national identity of the European and Ukrainian public.
